The Verses of Love

Ayat-ayat Cinta, a brilliant Indonesian movie, based on best-selling novel with the same title by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, looking at the title what comes in our mind it’s all regarding love between human and the poster itself portrayed something that is far from what the movie is all about.

Ayat Ayat Cinta is a beautifully portrayed Islamic love story, a tale of a virtuous Muslim protagonist who overcomes all obstacles of life maintaining pure ideals. One way or another this movie bring us to the root of being a muslim,it touch the issue that we might has forgotten and things that we are not concern lately. Polygamy,corruption,family bonding and love to God. I can’t say much, you need to watch it yourself.

A movie such as AAC would bring something good for Malaysian especially the Malay youngsters and how to face the test of faith in times of trial ,not much but it help.

After layan AAC, totally I think Malaysian film director should come out with something like AAC,of course like our Prof-Madya-Anak- Mami-Film-Director said he produce what the audience want, and I realize how film making is a profit centered business,and we exactly cant compare our film industy with Hollywood to produce something BIG, but he and the rest of Malays film director must be forgotten that film is also a medium where it can play a crucial part in bringing the idea of unity among religion.

Just remember how Fitna,the short film by Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders change the perception among people around the world and how Muslim from all the globe react to it. We are multi-racial and multi-religious country and nowadays we are in the middle of crisis where the understanding among Malaysian are not as much as a decade ago. People from the film making industry and Government by the KEKKWA should do some changes to show how they really concern about their social responsibility.

The interpretation of Islam in the modern times has made the religion seem anti-social,anti-human rights and against progress. Islam is a dynamic guide to virtuos living for its people to cultivate a life and a world that will reward them on earth and the Afterworld. This is how films like AAC help in forwarding the reminder in the mind of either Muslims nor non-muslim.
